This course is for Dental Hygiene and Therapy students.

It contains materials to help with the development of research skills.

• Finding information (journal articles) by developing a search strategy
• Critical appraisal

The first section on finding information is for you to complete ahead of your developing a Search Strategy face-to-face session on 18th January 2019. It will help you find relevant literature for your programme and research project and will cover planning a search and methods for searching databases for literature. The session will build on this and allow you to practice finding literature on a topic of your choice.

We will also be working through two journal articles to develop your skills in critically appraising both quantitative and qualitative research.

There are also resources and e-learning focussed on developing your understanding of referencing (including using reference management software) and avoiding plagiarism.
